Fiesta Key has gone by various names at different times. Jewfish Kay on the E & G.W. Blunt chart of 1846. Jewfish Key on Charles Smith’s 1873 survey map, Tropical key when purchased by the Greyhound Bus Company in the 1950’s and later Greyhound Key. Other names include Jew-fish Kay (later Jewfish Key, Jewfish Bush Key and then Swinger Kay. In 1966 Kampgrounds of America (KOA) purchased the island from the Greyhound Bus Company and renamed it Fiesta Key.
